After the Immigration I had to take my luggage and put it on the next assembly line for people who continue to fly. After that the American officers checked my handbags again, but now we had to take our shoes off. That was funny but we know that American people want to life save. Okay, after I had all this behind me I went finally to my next gate. On my way there, a friend named Ranjit, a boy I met few weeks before, walked the same way. He was in the same airplane like me. Apart from that I realized that I had more time on the airport as I thought. Because at home we didn’t know that the time in Cincinnati was different as in Hot Springs. Thus it was a little bit more relaxed. Together we went to our gate, because they were next to each other. Funny or not? He had to wait 1,5 hours and me I had to wait 2 hours. During the waiting time I called my parents to tell them that all was okay. Before I flue my parents gave me extra for that a call card. It works on every phone without paying and it is cheaper. It’s like a prepaid-card for cell phones. After I called my parents I called my boyfriend but he wasn’t at home. That confused me because actually he had to be at home but I didn’t thought something bad. On the next day I heard that a car hit him and that he was lying in the hospital. But about that I will write the next time more. Then my flight to Little Rock began. The flight was 1 hour long and when we arrived, I was really excited and nervous. Out of the airplane and in the adventure. Before I got my luggage, my whole family welcomed me. That was a real surprise, because in Germany we get our luggage first. My local coordinator was on the airport too. After we managed all things we went home. On our way home we went out for dinner because it was night in America. In Germany it was already midnight.
It is all really exciting and they are all nice people. In the beginning we hugged each other and stuff like this. They know what it means to be hospitable.
Okay I think that is enough by now. The next days I will try to write something about the first days in my family and school.
Nice greetings from far, far away! Status: 2007-08-12
